JMC Genetics has officially launched at Dairy-Tech 2026, marking the introduction of a new independent genetics business aimed at giving dairy farmers greater choice and access to impartial, performance-backed breeding advice.
The launch represents a strategic expansion for Tithebarn, one of the UK’s longest-established livestock nutrition businesses, founded in 1935. Tithebarn supplies mineral and protein supplements, animal health products and forage enhancers to farms across the UK and overseas.
Responding to Change in the AI Sector
The creation of JMC Genetics comes at a time of significant consolidation within the artificial insemination (AI) sector, making it one of the few new genetics companies to enter the market in recent years.
JMC Genetics has been established to offer dairy producers greater choice, transparency and access to genetics selected for commercial performance across a wide range of production systems.

To support the launch of JMC Genetics, Tithebarn has strengthened its senior leadership team with two key appointments:
Matthew Stott, Commercial Director
Chris Stone, Genetics Director
Together, they bring a combined 65 years’ experience in the dairy and genetics sectors and join existing directors John Kelso, Managing Director, and Andrew Hodgson, Financial Director.

Independence is a central principle of JMC Genetics’ approach. The business is not tied to a single breeding organisation, enabling it to offer impartial advice and bespoke breeding plans aligned to individual herd goals.
The integration of genetics within Tithebarn also strengthens the link between breeding and nutrition, supporting a more joined-up approach to herd performance on farm.
